Collapse

There are dualisms so that there are collapses.

Collapse between nature and human--like "incest prohibition" in Levi-Strauss's anthropology work.

Collapse between normative and descriptive framework--like the concept of "political society" of Partha Chaterjee.

Collapse between "is" and "ought".

Collapse between concepts as analysis instruments of theoretical work and concepts as cultural weapon in everyday struggles.

Then, 侯孝賢 can be seen as a collapse. He belongs to modernism camp as well as realism camp in 1980s. The dualism had once destroyed his binary through 侯孝賢.
